The Sagamore Seminars education series is offered by Sagamore Institute of the Adirondacks, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization chartered by the Board of Regents of the Education Department of the State of New York and sole owner and operator of Great Camp Sagamore.
Program Overview
Discover the expressive art of printmaking in this hands-on workshop series at Great Camp Sagamore. Through guided demonstrations, layered experimentation, and mentored studio exploration, participants will learn to create original prints using both water and oil-based materials. The program is designed to build confidence in process and technique—perfect for beginners as well as those looking to refresh or deepen their existing skills.
Weekend Printmaking Introduction: Friday–Sunday
The introductory two-night workshop focuses on the fundamentals of printmaking. Participants will explore basic techniques, experiment with textures and layering, and learn about materials, tools, and studio setup. The pace is supportive and exploratory, providing a strong foundation in process and creativity.
Advanced techniques and mentored studio: Sunday–Wednesday
The advanced session invites participants to continue exploring printmaking techniques in greater depth. Building on the introductory weekend, this workshop provides more open studio time, opportunities to refine composition and color work, and individualized guidance to develop a cohesive series of prints.
Participants may choose to attend either the introductory weekend or the full program to immerse themselves in the extended studio experience.

Program Instructors
Terri Fraser - Full Time Teacher & Artist
Terri Fraser is a seasoned artist, holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Ohio Wesleyan University. With a passion for mixed media and assemblage, Terri's artistic journey is deeply rooted in her reverence for nature and the profound connection between humanity and the earth.
Devoting herself to art full-time for over a decade, Terri has garnered notable recognition, including multiple best-in-show awards and participation in over 50 exhibitions, spanning solo, group, and juried showcases in NJ, PA, & NYC. Her work has been celebrated not only within artistic circles but also captured the attention of esteemed publications such as the New York Times.
Wes Sherman- Professor of Art
Wes Sherman has been an artist for over 30 years. In that time, he has had 50 solo exhibitions and has been in hundreds of group exhibitions. He was Curator and Chair of Exhibitions at the Center for Contemporary Art in Bedminster, NJ for 12 years, where he had dedicated many volunteer hours to showcasing New Jersey art and artists. He has been a frequent visiting artist at universities and schools and is regularly asked to lead art programs for organizations and clubs. An adjunct professor, Sherman teaches at William Paterson University and Raritan Valley Community College. He received his MFA at Rutgers University, where he studied with his mentor Tom Nozkowski.
