Program Overview
Step back in time and experience the Adirondacks the way Great Camp Sagamore’s earliest visitors did—by water. During this three-night, two-day paddling adventure, you’ll explore Sagamore Lake and two of the region’s most storied routes, each offering a glimpse into the history, beauty, and tranquility of the Adirondack wilderness.
In partnership with NYS DEC’s “Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW)” program, Great Camp Sagamore brings you a weekend of paddling and fun. Canoes and kayaks are perfectly suited to the peaceful, historic waterways surrounding Great Camp Sagamore. Each day’s journey will take you along scenic lakes and quiet streams once traveled by the guides and guests who helped shape Adirondack outdoor traditions.
Evenings bring comfort and camaraderie—relax in your cozy accommodations, share stories over hearty, delicious meals, and enjoy the rustic elegance of Sagamore’s National Historic Landmark setting.
Participants must be at least 14 years old. Youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
This program is inclusive of boat rental, boat drop-off and pickup, and a shuttle from camp to the location.
