Great Camp Sagamore’s beloved Grandparent–Grandchild Camp is a wonderful way to spend quality time together in the heart of the Adirondacks. Our “Grands Camp” experiences are designed to bring families closer in a comfortable and inspiring natural setting. The aim of this five-night program is to celebrate the bond between grandparents and grandchildren. The wide variety of activities will simultaneously foster respect and love for the natural world at this National Historic Landmark. Together, you’ll embark on memorable adventures tailored to different interests and skill levels. Grands Camp offers a fun-filled, educational experience set in a vibrant, living piece of history.
Enjoy music and songs throughout the week with Dan Duggan & Peggy Lynn, explore nature-inspired art projects, and join Great Camp Sagamore’s Outdoor Educators for canoeing, hiking, and outdoor games. Programming is designed for grandchildren ages 10-14.

Program Instructors
Kim Sorensen - Program Manager
The Grandparent-Grandchild Camp will be led by Sagamore’s Program Manager, Kim Sorensen, along with Sagamore’s talented staff of Environmental Educators. Together they will lead guided hikes, paddles, games, nature talks and much more. Kim believes in the value and importance of intergenerational bonds and loves to share her passion for the outdoors and the beauty of the Adirondacks with people of all ages and backgrounds.
GCS Outdoor Educators - Safety First
Camp should be fun, but also safe. Children attending camp are under the constant combined supervision of their grandparent(s), Sagamore’s talented and well-trained Outdoor Education staff and contracted Instructors, and Counselors in Training. Every resonable effort is made to accommodate the special needs and dietary restrictions of campers. All Sagamore staff are certified in CPR, adult and child first aid. Many are also wilderness first aid trained.
Peggy Lynn - Music Instructor
Peggy Lynn, singer, songwriter, and educator, brings an infectious enthusiasm to all her endeavors. Peggy ranges from folksy to blues with equal ease, alone or harmonizing with others. With a sultry, yet powerful alto voice, Peggy gives a clear message of the passion underlying her songs. While her style and range give meaning and emotion to all her work, her most powerful message is for the contributions and burdens of women.
Dan Duggan
- Music Instructor
Dan Duggan, nationally touring performer and teacher, is rapidly being acknowledged as one of the finest dulcimer players and composers in the country. A recipient of the prestigious National Hammered Dulcimer Championship, Dan's renditions of traditional Irish and American tunes reflect his study and understanding of their original context. Whether re-creating 18th century harp pieces or vibrant 19th century dance tunes, Dan has engaged audiences nationwide in an excursion of musical styles and moods.
