Our Summer Concert Series continues with Peggy Lynn.
Peggy Lynn, singer and songwriter, runs from folk to blues with a style and range that gives meaning and emotion to all her work. Her most powerful message is for the contributions and burdens of women. Peggy believes there needs to be a female role added to the record of Adirondack history. She co-authored Breaking Trail: Remarkable Women in the Adirondacks. Bringing these stories to the public stage in her own program, “Mountain Women Can Be Heroes,” Peggy celebrates, through song and story, the comical, amazing and poignant experiences of Adirondack women as the unsung heroes.
In loving memory of Dan Duggan. Dan was a nationally acclaimed performer, composer, and educator who was widely recognized as one of the finest hammered dulcimer players in the country. A recipient of the prestigious National Hammered Dulcimer Championship, Dan made history as the first champion to win the competition performing entirely original compositions—a testament to his extraordinary creativity and musicianship.
Through his deep appreciation and understanding of traditional music, Dan brought Irish and American tunes to life with authenticity and grace. Whether interpreting 18th-century harp pieces or spirited 19th-century dance melodies, he captivated audiences across the nation with performances that reflected both historical insight and artistic excellence.
Beyond his remarkable talent, Dan was a generous teacher, mentor, and friend whose passion for music inspired countless musicians and listeners. His contributions to the traditional music community continue to resonate, and his legacy lives on through the music he created, shared, and loved.
